WELCOME TO 2026

TOURISM: A Force for Positive Change.

As we step boldly into 2026, The Tourism Library welcomes tourism stakeholders, youth innovators, institutions, and partners to a new era of regional tourism economic expansion and sustainable tourism development in Nigeria.

At Tourism Library, we believe tourism is more than travel, it is history preserved, culture empowered, youth inspired, and communities transformed.

The Tourism Library reaffirms its commitment to advancing sustainable tourism as a driver of inclusive economic growth, youth empowerment, cultural preservation, and community resilience, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the policy frameworks of UN Tourism (formerly UNWTO).

Tourism Library positions tourism as a strategic development tool, one that supports sustainable livelihoods, strengthens regional economies, safeguards heritage, and empowers the next generation of tourism leaders.

Institutional Mandate and Global Alignment

TLS is a youth-focused tourism development and knowledge platform established to promote History, Tourism, Arts, Culture, and Humanity – HITACH, as pillars for sustainable development in Nigeria.

Our approach directly reflects UN Tourism’s definition of sustainable tourism as development that “takes full account of its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment and host communities.”

The Importance of History, Tourism, Arts, Culture, and Humanity in Shaping Our Society

A society without memory is a society without direction. The foundations of any progressive civilization are deeply rooted in its history, tourism, arts, culture, and shared humanity . These elements are not luxuries or mere symbols of identity; they are powerful tools that shape values, inspire unity, drive economic growth, and define how people see themselves and the world. HISTORY - The Compass of Society History is more than a record of past events; it is a guide for the future. It teaches lessons about leadership, resilience, mistakes, and triumphs. By understanding where we come from, societies develop a stronger sense of identity and purpose. History helps nations avoid repeating past errors and encourages informed decision-making. It also preserves the stories of heroes, innovators, and communities whose sacrifices and achievements laid the groundwork for present progress. When history is respected and taught, it builds pride, responsibility, and continuity across generat...

The Imperative of a Presidential Leadership Intervention for Regional Tourism Economic Expansion in Nigeria

Presidential leadership intervention in Nigeria's tourism sector is imperative to unlock its potential as a $100 billion economic contributor by 2030, driven by the Renewed Hope Agenda’s focused on diversification. Key interventions include finalizing and strengthening the National Tourism Policy and Master Plan, upgrading infrastructure, and implementing policies to boost regional security and sustainable development. Despite the country’s vast natural landscapes, rich heritage, vibrant creative industries, and dynamic youth population, tourism development has often progressed in a fragmented and uncoordinated manner. To unlock its full national value, a clear Presidential intervention is necessary to drive regional tourism economic expansion under structured federal supervision. Globally, tourism ...
